Aditya Basak

‘The thematic world of mine is a blend of both reality and imagination. The interaction of reality and imagination is the concept of my painting’ says Aditya about his creative journey, who had six solo shows to his credit and one two persons show at Admit One Gallery in New York.

Graduate of Government College of Arts and Crafts (1977), Kolkata, Aditya’s video art was shown in Kolkata, Washington, Tel Aviv. National Award winner in painting (1986), Aditya also is the recipient of a award from the Government of West Bengal (1988) and scholarship from his Alma Mater (`973-77). He has participated in more than 100 group shows in India as well as several international shows. His creations are in the collections of National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, Roopankar Museum, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, Bengal Foundation, Dhaka, Chitra Kala Parishad, Bengaluru, Sanghi Industries, Hyderabad, Goodrick, Tata Steel and many other corporate and private collections in India, Paris, America, Japan, Honk Kong, Bangladesh. Member of the Society of Contemporary Artists since 1983, he lives and works in Kolkata.
