Anirban Ghosh, the energetic graphic artist literally breathes design in whatever he is into. Born in 1977 in Kolkata he is currently working as the Principal Designer with The Times of India (Kolkata edition). Formerly he was a senior designer with Mail Today and the Art Director of India Today magazine. Anirban has also worked with a number of reputed design studios and advertising agencies.
His domain mainly belongs to computer graphics. Being a professional designer, his passion too revolves round his vocation and his economy is inherently connected with it, thereby erasing the eternal dichotomy between passion and profession. He makes the so called professional assignments like advertising campaign, posters, and annual reports go beyond their original scope and tweaks them into fascinating pieces of art that address various aspects of the society. With skilled precision he turns the mundane professional projects into a completely new creation with a message of its own. All of Ghosh’s works have evolved this way.
A keen student of art, Anirban is a Post-Graduate in Graphic Design from Rabindra Bharati University. He did his graduation in Visual Art from Indian College of Arts & Draftsmanship.
Anirban lives and works in Kolkata.
So far Anirban has taken part in quite a number of prestigious group and solo shows. One of them is “Mythologies-the meaning of signs”, at Studio 21 in 2012. This was a solo show where Anirban worked on the meaning of the signs that surround us in our everyday lives. He also projected his works in a group exhibition at CIMA Summer Show in November, 2012. A few other exhibitions where he participated are SKYJAM , an online live event at Studio 21 in November, 2012, Art Mela in November, 2012 at CIMA and Monsoon Mix Group Show at Studio 21 in July 2013.
